Surfing courses in Dunbar start with nice surf forecast

Beginner Surf Courses

Our first Sunset Beginner Surf Course of the season begins on Thursday 18 April from 7pm – 9pm.

Based at Belhaven Beach, this course gives complete beginners the chance to learn the fundamentals of surfing in a relaxed and sociable setting.

The course includes four surf lessons over four weeks, with one session each week.

During the course you will learn:

  • Surf safety and ocean awareness

  • Equipment knowledge

  • How to read surf forecasts

  • How to catch waves

  • How to stand up on the board

  • Basic board control

These sessions are designed to be both educational and enjoyable. Many participants find the course a great way to meet other people who are starting their surfing journey.

Because Belhaven is so close to Edinburgh, the course can even feel like a midweek mini break by the sea.
