What Our Customers Say
EXCELLENT Based on 286 reviews Posted on Craig DicksonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really great surf school, good vibes and friendly staff. The beach at Belhaven Bay is really beautiful, massive long beginner-friendly beach break. I've surfed with them many times, and had a hire from here last weekend. The conditions weren't great (small swell) but the staff pointed me to the best section of beach and set me up with the right board. I had an amazing time!Posted on Paul KellyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely cracking surf lesson today with Malcolm - full of information, full of opportunity and full of waves perfect for a couple of beginners. I didn't think I was going to be any good at all but Malcolm managed to support me to make me feel like I was going to get there with practice and eventually I started to make my way to standing and my daughter was flying by the end of a couple of hours and may have just discovered her new favourite activity. We'll be back both for a bit more surf tuition but also for a crack at the coasteering. Thanks guys can't wait to get back out there.Posted on Kevin PaulTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So you are looking to learn to surf but you don't know if you should go to Coast to Coast (CtoC) or Lost Shores (LS), I will explain why you should go to both. I have been to both LS 4 times and today (Sep 25) to CtoC. I would say you should go to both as they both compliment each other. However, surfing at LS doesn't mean you surf real waves. I went to LS as it is a controlled environment thinking it would be easier for my family, but now being at both, CtoC was actually an easier environment due to really good staff and Belhaven Bay beach being a good beginner beach. COAST TO COST - BELHAVEN BAY The beach is sandy with it having a low gradient meant that the beginner class doesn't need to go any deeper than chest height, so you can always touch the bottom. Because it's a beach when you fall you are hitting sand. When you reach the bottom you can walk up to your position, not having to paddle for white beginner waves which is less tiring as paddling. LOST SHORES -WAVE POOL Lost Shores is a controlled environment wave pool with a concrete bottom. Every wave you can surf and you will probably stand by the end of the session. You will have to paddle after each try to the middle (not walk) which is really really tiring. Because of the concrete you do have to watch when you reach the end as you are flying towards concrete. CONCLUSION CtoC at Belhaven is good to start learning to read the waves which at LS you can't, but at LS you may stand quicker meaning that once you do learn to read the waves you will have a better chance of standing. The staff at both locations are a higher than usual quality as they generally do it because they want to teach people to learn to surf. But I was really impressed by CtoC staff at how safe they made it feel especially with younger kids and the personal feedback throughout the session to how to surf. Which one first. I would say either but don't be scared because it's the sea as it's really good and just as safe if not more safe, but if you have been to LS a couple of times you probably want to go to CtoC soon, and if you get good at sea surfing you may want to try a controlled environment for specific moves. And once you have visited CtoC you can hire the equipment-only at a cheaper rate, and Belhaven Bay is a busy beach, so plenty of people about. Hope this helped, and have fun.Posted on Joanna LordTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A very good lesson for two beginner paddleboarders. Instructor was kind, friendly and experienced and we really enjoyed our session.Posted on eileen chuaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the coasteering experience with Josh, our guide, and it was amazing! Josh was patient, paced the entire experience very well, and was experienced. We had our 10yo with us and he was well guided to do all the challenges and cliff jumps safely. Definitely well worth it!Posted on J KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hit the coast for glassy 3ft surf session on 8s but … forgot my wetsuit (duh). Headed to Coast to Coast - hired decent suit at decent price and still enjoyed the waves! Efficient, effective, effortless. Good job C2C!Posted on Ewan CampbellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Good experience hiring surf board and wet suit from herePosted on AzlanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a great bunch of people. We've been for quite a few hires and lessons with different instructors. It's always a great experience.
