Scottish Lowlands Longboard Championships 2023 is back this year.

Our annual Lowlands Longboard Surfing Competition returns to Belhaven in East Lothian!

Get those longboards ready, mark your calendar, and join us for a brilliant weekend of surfing. The Lowlands Longboard Surfing Competition has been running for over a decade, and every year it brings together surfers from across Scotland and beyond. It’s not just about winning – it’s about great waves, good people, and building the longboard community.

Held at Belhaven beach near Dunbar, this event has become a highlight in the Scottish surf calendar. Whether you’re competing or just coming along to watch, the atmosphere is always relaxed, friendly, and welcoming.

Competition Categories

The Lowlands Longboard Surfing Competition includes several divisions so everyone can take part and enjoy the day.

Categories include:

  • Men’s Longboard

  • Women’s Longboard

  • Junior Longboard

Each division is designed to create a supportive and fun environment where surfers can showcase their style, share waves, and enjoy the day together.

How to Enter

If you’d like to compete in the Lowlands Longboard Surfing Competition, head over to the Scottish Surfing Federation (SSF) website to sign up.

Even if you’re not surfing, everyone is welcome. Come along to Belhaven beach, cheer on the competitors, and enjoy a great day by the sea with the local surf community.

The After Party

The fun doesn’t stop when the competition ends. Once the sun sets, we’re heading into Dunbar for the official after party.

Expect a proper celebration with music, good company, and plenty of dancing. Our DJs will be spinning tunes on the well-known Botanica Sound System, keeping the energy high throughout the night.

As a thank you for taking part, all competitors receive half-price tickets at the door for the after party.

Calling Creative Volunteers

We’re also looking for volunteer artists to help decorate the hall for the evening celebration. If you’re keen to contribute your creativity and help make the space look amazing, get in touch with @malcolm_todd124. All ideas are welcome.

See You at Belhaven

The Lowlands Longboard Surfing Competition is always one of the most enjoyable weekends of the year. Whether you’re riding waves, watching from the beach, or joining us later for the after party, it’s a great chance to celebrate longboarding in Scotland.

Good waves with friends – that’s the goal.

See you at Belhaven.
